I fell in love with Montenegro while I was traveling in the Balkins on a G Adventures group tour. Nothing can beat Croatia, but if I were going to visit the Balkins again I would skip the first leg of my trip – Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia and spend more time in Montenegro (and of course Croatia). We were lucky enough to stay within the city walls of a small town called Kotor and took a day trip to Perast.

Tip: I recommend taking a Kayak trip in the Bay of Kotor while you’re there. Our Kayaking trip occurred during a thunderstorm, which made things very exciting and adventurous! We all survived, so I guess it must have been safe.
